TEC provides ongoing Facility Asset Management Program support to Albemarle County, Virginia. TEC initially conducted facility condition assessments for eight county buildings totaling 300,000 square feet. The facilities included office buildings, a fire station, an elementary school, historic court houses, and a historic jail and jailer’s house. The assessment effort included ASTM E 1557 Uniformat II Level 4 assessments, 10-year maintenance, repair, and replacement cost forecasts, a 5-year Maintenance Action Plan, analysis using TECfms facility asset management software, Capital Outlay Program consultation, a written report, and formal presentations. Following the initial effort, the county renewed its TECfms license and TEC has worked with county staff to refine and expand their use of TECfms software to better manage and budget their facility maintenance.
