TEC supported the U.S. Coast Guard’s asset management strategy by deploying multi-disciplined field teams to assess 1,200 facilities totaling 3,500,000 square feet at all major Coast Guard bases in the Pacific area including Alaska and Hawaii. For each base, TEC developed Facility Condition Indices, 10-year Maintenance Repair & Renovation plans, Executive Reports, and major building profile descriptions, submitted in written reports and available via TEC’s TECfms facility software. TEC continues support to the Coast Guard through design, testing, and deployment of an enterprise-wide facilities business process to better align limited funding with mission-critical shore assets. The new process, developed by TEC asset management staff, is based on a performance management approach using quantifiable metrics to focus investments on assets that have the most impact to mission readiness and risk reduction.
