São Tomé e Príncipe

TEC Inc. successfully negotiated a concession agreement between the Government of São Tomé e Príncipe and a major shipping line for the development, under a build, operate, and transfer (BOT) scheme, of a new deepwater container transshipment hub to serve West Central Africa. TEC previously prepared a Feasibility Study for the development of the transshipment terminal and also assisted the Government in marketing the development and operation of the new port. São Tomé e Príncipe is a small island nation on the West Central African coast in the Gulf of Guinea. The Feasibility Study included a market assessment and site selection phase, followed by detailed survey and geotechnical evaluations at the selected site, development of preliminary engineering plans, analysis of the port financing and revenues and a final analysis of the ability of the port complex to be privatized.
