TEC assisted Port Panama City, first with development of a Scope of Work (SOW) and then with the proposal package for a design-build contract to engineer and construct an expansion project at Port Panama City. The SOW project involved creation of dry bulk terminal plans, bulk storage warehouse designs, conveyor layouts, and cost estimates. TEC’s support for the proposal package included developing plans and specifications for a new 75,000-square-foot, steel-frame, multi-bulk storage warehouse, terminal roads, drainage systems, and civil and site work required to prepare the site for a new terminal railroad. Additional work included overall site and terminal planning and preliminary engineering for a rail dump station, belt conveyor systems, and a ship loader.
TEC, in concert with another contractor, provided post-bid support for the final design and construction project. TEC also provided technical support during start-up and trouble-shooting of the rail unloading and warehouse reclaim systems, conveyors and dust control systems.
