Wetland Delineation and Mitigation Assessment, U.S. Army Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield

Location: U.S. Army Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia
Client: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District

TEC conducted a wetland assessment to evaluate existing delineated wetlands (fresh and salt-water) at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield in order to determine the feasibility of converting these areas into wetland bank credits. The assessment presented a layman’s description of what can be used to create wetland credits; indicated the areas most feasible to create wetland credits; differentiated between areas that are mitigation sites and those that are potential credit sites; estimated average cost associated with creating bank credits; and presented options and/or recommendations for potential sites for wetland bank credits.
