John Rydlund is a TEC Senior Port Planner with over 25 years of marine operations and logistics experience that includes the US Army Transportation Corps, marine terminal management, and logistics. A graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, John has a wide range of experience related to marine terminal management, administration, and logistics in both military and civilian applications. He has participated in several major military marine logistics exercises including Logistics-Over-the-Shore operations. He supported Operation Desert Shield as a civilian marine terminal Operations Manager and served as the Director of the Port of Houston Authority International Corporation. He also developed programs that made the Port of Houston a major cargo distribution hub.

John, a former U.S. Army officer, has a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and Nautical Science as well as an Unlimited Tonnage Third Mate’s License for any Vessel upon the Ocean.
